Finally! A sense of humor on this show that doesn’t involve making fun of Simon (which is totally misplaced and should really be making fun of how drunk Paula looks.)

Foo & I first boarded the American Idol train 5th season when Taylor Hicks won. We got suckered in by the crazies who tryout, and then we just kept watching.

Last night’s finale felt so much less pretentious than the past 2 years, maybe because they featured some cool artists. . .ZZ Top, Seal, Graham Nash, and Bryan Adams (of course, I’m a teenager of the 80’s).

But the best, the very best, I’ve EVER seen on this show was the clip with Gladys Knight from 1972. Jack Black, Robert Downey, and Ben Stiller were hi-freaking-larious. I don’t know what was up with Jack Black losing his pants, but anything that guy does works for me.

Finally, American Idol, you did it.
