I am a thirty-something (born the same year as Tina Fey) Stay At Home Mom to two amazing little boys, and Foowife to Fooboyx (King of The Rock Salt).
I was born in Ft. Worth TX, climbed every tree as a preschooler in Bloomington, IN, went to elementary and high school in Carlisle, PA, studied at Heidelberg Universitat in Germany, graduated magna cum laude from Dickinson College with a BA in German Literature, served a full-time LDS mission in Munich Germany, and although I was almost accepted to law school (wait listed at BYU Law School), I was able to work in my field and became a project manager for a Salt Lake City based worldwide translation company, Alpnet, as well as do some German to English translation.
I met the love of my life in 1996 and Foo & I got married June 16, 1997. We’re now raising two amazing little miracles: Hamhock, born Nov. 1, 2003 and Superboy, born July 12, 2005.
Foo has a JD from Penn State and does an amazing job practicing law at a Salt Lake City-based firm and supporting our family. I’m a Stay At Home Mom during the day and a Work Outside the Home Mom at night. I have done a variety of part-time jobs which included anything from German to English translation to InterContinental Hotels (where I currently work at night to help pay for Hamhock’s recovery from autism).
We are also practicing Mormons, which means we are saved and faithful Christians who were baptized and worship Jesus Christ and His teachings, with active fellowship in the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Hamhock has significant social and learning delays due to autism spectrum disorder, so the main intent of My Non-ASD Kind of Life blog is to have a little fun away from all of My ASD Kind of Life stress.
You can, however, check out my autism blog for info regarding My ASD Kind of Life.
